Welcome to GreenBox Plex 🎬

Hey! You’ve been invited to GreenBox Plex — a personal streaming server hosted on a bare-metal box in Germany. Think Netflix, but with whatever movies and TV shows you or the group request.

Step 1 — Accept your Plex invite (2 min)

You’ll get an email from Plex saying Devante invited you to share a server. Click the accept link.

If you don’t have a Plex account yet, you’ll be prompted to make one — it’s free, just email + password.

After accepting, open any Plex app (or app.plex.tv) and you should see “GreenBox” in your server list with Movies, TV Shows, and Music libraries.

Step 2 — Install the Plex app

Pick your favorite:

• Phone: Plex on iOS / Plex on Android
• TV: Plex app is on basically everything — Roku, Apple TV, Fire Stick, LG, Samsung, Chromecast, Android TV, NVIDIA Shield, Xbox, PlayStation
• Computer: app.plex.tv in any browser, or download the Plex desktop app

Log in with your Plex account. GreenBox will show up as a server you can stream from.

Step 3 — Want something that’s not in the library yet? Use Overseerr

1. Click “Sign In with Plex” — uses the same Plex account you just accepted the invite with
2. Your account gets auto-created with full request permissions
3. Search for any movie or TV show
4. Click “Request”
5. That’s it — the server will find it, download it (usually 5–30 min), and it’ll appear in your Plex library automatically

No captcha, no approval queue, no waiting on Devante.

Step 5 (optional) — Get Telegram notifications for YOUR requests

If you want a Telegram ping when your movie/show finishes downloading and is ready to watch, it’s 30 seconds:

1. Open Telegram, search for @GreenboxPlex_bot, tap Start

2. Reply to the bot with:

   /link your-email@example.com

   (use the same email you used for Overseerr/Plex)

3. The bot confirms you’re linked. That’s it.

From now on, when your requests land in Plex, the bot pings you directly.

Skip this if you don’t want notifications — everything still appears in Plex either way.

FAQ

“I can’t see the server in Plex”

Make sure you’re logged in as the Plex account the invite was sent to. Then pull-to-refresh or restart the Plex app. If still missing, ping Devante to re-send the invite.

“My request has been pending for 20 minutes”

• First check the status page — maybe the download pipeline is having a moment
• Obscure/very new releases sometimes take hours because there are few seeders
• If it’s been >12 hours, report an issue via Overseerr’s Issues tab

“The quality sucks / no subtitles / wrong language”

Click the “•••” menu on the movie/show in Overseerr → “Report Issue” → pick the problem. This pings Devante directly.

“How many movies can I request?”

No limit for now. If we start running out of space or bandwidth, limits might get added later.

“Can I watch offline / download to my phone?”

Probably not — that requires Plex Pass (premium feature) on Devante’s end. Stream only for now.

“Is there a 4K library?”

Not currently — everything’s 1080p. 4K takes way more storage + bandwidth.

“Something is broken!”

• For a specific movie/show issue: Overseerr → the item → Report Issue
• For the whole server being down: check https://status.greenboxplex.duckdns.org
• For anything else: message Devante
